MY GAY BABY BROTHER IS GETTING MARRIED!!!

Forgive the exuberance - I've had a lot emotionally overwhelming news thrown at me just now - some good some bad, but this? This is AWESOME!

My baby brother Craig and his partner Jack, who live in the Northern California, are getting hitched in October! These guys have been together more or less since high school (so, around twenty years, I think - don't ever let anyone out there tell you that gay men can't have long-term committed relationships!!!) and now they finally get to stand up in front of the whole world and tell people not to spill crumbs on their carpet exchange their vows!!!

I missed my other brother Tom's wedding to the fabulous Miz Kinah due to a cat rapidly failing from cancer; I'm not going to miss this one! (In my own defense; they did elope and we only got about 24 hours notice.)

Congratulations, baby brother &
pesty-but-loveable brother-in-law!

I love you guys!

Note: Believe me, the carpet part will come immediately afterward. Pity the poor caterer. All guests are duly forewarned to bring Dustbusters.

Additional note: Yes, two big flamers in my family. Middle brother Tom (straight) is still trying to figure out what the hell was in the water where we grew up.

W00T! This is the second wedding I've heard about in the past eight hours (not via the news, of course). Congratulations to them, and all my sympathies for their carpet. ;)

Congrats to them! May they have at *least* another 20 years of happiness. And then 20 more after that. At least. O;>

Good for them! Let's hope the State of California doesn't do anything STUPID between now and then!

Terrific! Hopefully people will see this (legalized gay marriage) doesn't actually cause anyone's head to explode and mellow out about it. Love is never a wrong answer.

Very awesome news. Congrats all around!!!

The cake-makers in California must all be working overtime.

That's awesome! I moved from California to Massachusetts last September, and I am thrilled that my home state is stepping up to the bat with allowing same sex marriage. I hope your brother's wedding is wonderful.

It's great that they have this opportunity that they haven't had before. Who said the world is going downhill. There are some obvious improvements.

How wonderful! Congratulations and best wishes for them!

The first time I gave a speech in support of legalizing gay marriage, it never occurred to me that it would take so long. I mean, seriously... how can anyone argue that love is wrong?

I was a naive co-ed at the time (15 years ago), but still... a long time coming and a long way still to go.

So nice to celebrate a step in the right direction, though. :)

Congrats to your baby bro! I heard a sound bite of a couple who got married in California yesterday after being together for more than 50 years. I was so happy for them...yet so angry that they had to wait so long.

Congrats to them! It being the first day was mentioned on the news this morning, and it put a huge smile on my face before I had to go out to brave the rush hour to work.

HOORAH! I've just been on a delirious high since yesterday morning, as the news of all these marriages comes rolling in. I hesitate to say it, but I feel hopeful. I feel like we might get some real equality in this country.

Different Julia here, adding congrats. Two of our friends were among the plaintiffs in this case, and they were married (for the second time!) in front of the Harvey Milk bust on Tuesday morning.

I don't think I have cried so hard with joy at anything on the Internet as I did at the photos of the Martin/Lyon wedding on Monday. They are such amazing ladies.
