Ronald Reagan in heels. (No, seriously.)

"Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he's a she." -- Michael Reagan on vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

(By the way, do Anne and Nancy Wilson know that John McCain is using Barracuda as his theme song? I could just weep, I tell ya. Just weep.)

Edit to Add: Intrepid Swiveteer Gina Black sent me this link: Apparently the Wilson sisters have fired off a cease and desist letter to the McCain campaign.

Also? Here's a genius plan for derailing the McCain campaign.

That was a little scary. It might explain why my dad's so head-over-heels for her (though her ex-beauty queen status is probably a factor, too).

I wondered the same thing about the music myself. And then I found this.

Not the first song they've stolen. There is another musician suing the McCain camp about this very same thing. I can't remember his name.
I'm seeing Palin as a liar. The news did a review of her speech this morning citing all the untruths.

How could I forget? It was Jackson Browne;

Aimless is right. What is up with the McCain camp just taking these songs without asking? And where is the RIAA on this? They'll bend over backwards to sue some single mother who downloaded a couple of songs, so why aren't they out front on McCain's shenanigans?

Hey, I copyrighted the catchphrase, "Reagan in a skirt."

You're cutting into my royalties with knockoffs like that.

Still, "Reagan in heels" has a somewhat more marketable ring to it than "Reagan in Doc Martins" or "Reagan in Rainbow Timberlands." But I suppose it all depends upon your world view.

For a long time I've been trying to figure out how women can be 53% of the world population and still not run things. Women are "Da Man."

Then come along slap-to-the-forehead reminders that women are more prone to tearing each other down instead of supporting their common concerns. It's been a long time since Kathrine Willey. I forgot.

Just when I think I'm starting to understand the XX chromosome, I realize there may be something to that whole Mars-Venus schtick.

that was one of the strangest quotes i've ever heard.

So now, not only is teen preganacy a family value, reincarnation is part of the religion?

This the second time the McCain camp has blatantly pirated a songwriter's duly copyrighted material. I see another comment naming Jackson Browne. I also recall conservative pundits castigating Browne for being selfish.

Apparently, violating copyrights are okay for them. They are, of course, above the law.
