I know that has to be frustrating to you, but a have to say (selfishly) that these kind of goofs by my fellow writers just help increase the odds for me!
For the love of God, people. THINK!
Cheers

LOL!
As an unpublished writer, I know how often my inbox is full of agent-sent messages requesting the honor of representing my literary drivel. It's a good thing someone has finally stood up to these unscrupulous types and made them prove their mettle by clicking a link before needlessly contacting an author.

I have to say that I feel the same way Tumblemoose does. Thank you people for taking yourselves out of the competition!
And they shouldn't have just used a spam filter like a normal person?
I mean, spam is annoying, but dude. If it's that much of a problem, sign up for gmail. They do a pretty good filtering job and, as a bonus, you don't have to inconvenience anyone.
OK so I'm still waking up this morning and when I first read this I thought YOU were requesting US to fill out a form so you receive our queries lol. Then I read it again and the comments and rubbed the sleep from my eye (apparently sitting at a coffee shop drinking coffee isn't doing the trick to wake me up anymore).
Anyhoo, this is hysterical and sad. But I can't help the green monster in me hoping more aspiring author's do this, just to thin my competition. :-D
gee. Is there an author equivalent of a Darwin Award?
Good call, Swivet.
My only question is: are there more or less authors like this than journalists / bloggers who request books or press material but have the same -- often malfunctioning -- Earthlink (or whatever other service provider) spam filter??
