Tor Books: anti-authoritarian propagandists?

Apparently so! Gee, who'd a thunk it?

Authoritarian propagandist (just in case anybody is checking spelling).

Okay, I'll bite. Libertarian science fiction is a huge turnoff for me. I like the egalitarian world of Star Trek. Earth is at peace, the downtrodden aren't trodden anymore.

Libertarians are great when it comes to sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll, but they really don't have any empathy for the less fortunate. It's dog-eat-dog world and tough luck for anybody not as smart and clever as the scifi guy who thinks he knows it all. Take that Card.

Sorry, but I'll remain a bleeding-heart liberal

I once had a manuscript disappear into the offices at Tor, never to be seen again.

Upon reflection, years later, I think divine providence was at work.

Or maybe it was libertarian mice.
