Contest update:

Okay, the crowds have spoken and the Swivet has listened. So, until the contest is over, I'm allowing anonymous comment posting. Knock yerselves out! (But hey! If you actually win, it would be kinda nice to have a way to let you know.)

You have many entries that are WAY over 140 characters - you know your readers will be counting every space in the winning entries!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the only one in the list that made me say, out loud, "Hell, yeah, I'd read that! When's it due out?"

No, not mine. :P I'm nothing if not a twerp.

I have been counting, too. All you have to do is cut and paste into the Twitter box and it counts instantly. Saves me a lot of time.

Can we enter more than once?

This is beyond brilliant. I love it, what a great idea! I doubt I will get much done today because I keep refreshing and reading the new ones. hehehe :D

I made my draft of the pitch in Word. Glad someone said something... My character count was from the "characters (no spaces)" Doh!

I deleted and reposted. Hope that counts still. :)

Some of these are GREAT. Why would you post anonymously? Oh, to do a second entry when you've already done one. *grin* If your anonymous one wins, you'd better check back to see if you won!

Yes, I saw that some people didn't heed the instructions very well. I counted my spaces and everything VERY carefully.

I think you're gonna need categories. How do you separate the really good silly ones from the really good serious queries?

I drafted mine in Twitter because I was too lazy to count. I don't think I've ever disliked the red negative count more.

Are you sorry you did this yet? As of 10:10, there are 336 comments!

Unfortunately I read about the contest shortly before midnight but long after MM (Multiple Margaritas) My apologies, my entry is definitely over 140, and I respectfully withdraw it. It was either count and miss the deadline or hit publish. Great idea btw.

I haven't laughed so hard in weeks. Some of the entries were a scream. And S.E. Ward! There were several that that I felt, Oh, Yeah I want to read that one!

Great job everyone.

I wanted to post twice one real one and one for kicks and giggles. I should have thought of the anonymous for the funny one. I can't wait to hear the finalists.

Swivet, o Swivet, any idea when you may be posting your Twitterific query winner and top 5? - although we greatly appreciate that you do not make hasty overnight judgments as some other less judicious blogging agent might do.
