Law & Order UK! (No, I'm not kidding!)

Some of you who know me in REAL life know that I am and have been a Law & Order junkie for at least fifteen years. All the Law & Order spin-offs, too. Doesn't matter which one; I know them all by heart. It is television comfort food for me. If I'm at home alone cleaning or doing chores, I'll often turn on a Law & Order re-run just to hear familiar voices in the house.

So I was thrilled to learn today that there is a new Law & Order spin-off already airing in Great Britain: Law & Order UK! Even better? It stars Battlestar Galactica alum Jaime Bamber and Dr. Who alum Freema Agyeman! It's like all of my TV fandoms rolled into one pretty new package. Now, if only I can figure out how to watch it here!

Ooh, I used to be such a huge Law & Order fan too - especially SVU; I agree, Olivia Benson was just too awesome!

Good grief! How have I missed this? I live in Scotland, and I haven't seen this! Must get searching my Sky+ (Brit tivo) right away so I catch it!

I saw it last night. It was actually pretty good - once I got over Apollo and Martha Jones! He's a tormented warrior, she's an ex-companion. Together they fight crime!

They managed to blend the Law and Order format and britishness quite well I think. Bradley Walsh - Jamie's partner - was surprisingly good too.

"Baby dies and no one blinks an eye? No. I ain't having it."

(If I find it on any of my usual sources *ahem* I could give you a dl link?)

I don't know what your feelings on
satellite t.v. are, but I used to sell satellite t.v.(don't anymore). But Dish Network is a reliable, reasonable company, and I believe they've got International Channels out of the UK. One of those may be the one you need. Now it's not going to be cheap--you'll need to purchase at least a basic package and then add the I-national channels, which will probably run you $20-$30, but it'll get 'er done. www.godish.com is a dealer which works for both major satellite companies so they'll give you the straight shot on the competition too. Ask for Damien Ramputi or Tree Holmes; if they're still there they're two of the best, most knowledgable guys in there. Hope that helps!

I've actually heard people complaining about this new L&O, because Freema was supposed to be on the next season of Torchwood. Apparently, she dropped the BBC to go to ITV (or something like that. I'll admit to not following how British television works).

L&O is like crack - now I'll be searching YouTube for the UK series - so not good.

My L&O addiction is validated.
