Really, I don't know why I bother blogging anymore. Jessica Faust at BookEnds is really so much better at it! Today she's opened up an Agentpass and Authorpass thread on her blog.
Sick of the whining and the negativity? Then go over there and share your positive stories about agents and authors.

Much prefer this positive approach!
Nah, you've got to keep blogging. After all, "The Swivet" is so high-concept and mysterious-sounding, what with those gears and such.
Awesome. Thanks so much for the link. I'm going to go over and check it out.
Thanks for the link. You are great about getting the book-biz info out there!
I'm not quite sure what all the negative thrashing about means. Agents are after all just regular people. Sure, I guess most of us would like to be rich and famous. But for me, in the end, I'm happy to just be having a blast writing my blog, finishing my novel and then when I become good enough someday, someone will look up from my query and say, Wow, send those chapters ASAP. I want to be both Good and Lucky.
Robin, from an unpubbed's POV, I think the negativity comes from frustration and perhaps bad luck with choosing who to query. There's no real way around this other than writing a whiz-bang book that gets an agent's attention, so some may feel relief by ranting. I don't know. Personally, I haven't had any particularly bad experiences with agents or editors (Knock wood). I can only hope my luck continues and eventually leads to an offer.
Mustn't quit blogging! We'd all miss your witty insights (even if I only get to read them every couple days what with the job search).
