I think those babies would have been fine. I've seen baby wood ducks jump out of the nest in 100-foot-tall trees and float down to earth like the little fuzz balls that they are.
It was strange to see my current hometown featured on your blog after being featured by the BBC. It was strange for the fact that I am currently writing the terminal paper for a master's degree looking at electronic media in the publishing industry, and I'm citing you!
One commenter said that the ducks probably would have been fine jumping from the ledge, which is true. But that's Spokane for you, we help you out even when you don't need it! The trek to the river may have been more treacherous, but the drivers here are overly cautious, so I doubt it.

The sweetest man ever.

As a side note, I say 'Make way for ducklings' when I'm leading my little troop though places. Adore that book.
So, I was drawn to this posting, expecting a trailer for one of my favorite children's boooks, but I think I liked this even more!
What a guy! :) Thanks for posting this!

Fantastic video...what amazing patience. That guy is my hero.
Well, according to the news story, one duckling didn't make it last year. Asphalt not so kind!
